Jeremy HullJeremy W. Hull
Jeremy W.Hull, an Associate, joined Obsidian in August 2008 after interning during the summer of 2007. He is actively involved with Obsidian’s renewable energy development efforts. He also analyzes investment opportunities in distressed assets.

Mr. Hull earned his J.D. and MBA from the University of Oregon in the spring of 2008. Previously, Mr. Hull interned in New York City for K2, Inc., a holding company that owns a portfolio of outdoor recreational equipment companies, including K2 Sports and Rawlings. While at K2, he analyzed licensing opportunities for K2’s portfolio companies, including forecasting revenue streams from potential licensing agreements and conducting trademark clearance with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Kirk MooreKirk A. Moore
Kirk A. Moore, an Analyst with Obsidian, is responsible for much of Obsidian's subprime bond analysis and valuation, both for Obsidian's own account and its role advising banks and hedge funds. Mr. Moore received his J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2004, and his B.S. in business economics from Willamette University in 1997.   From 2004 through early 2008, Mr. Moore practiced law with the law firm of Harrang Long Gary Rudnick P.C. in Eugene and Portland, Oregon.   His law practice focused on commercial lending, commercial litigation and labor and employment law.  Prior to law school, Mr. Moore worked at Copper Mountain Trust in the company’s packaged 401(k) product.

Ryan NorwoodRyan G. Norwood
Ryan G. Norwood joined Obsidian as an Analyst in March 2008.   He works extensively with Obsidian's real estate portfolio and is responsible for analyzing various investment and advising opportunities, especially in the areas of subprime bonds, distressed companies and special servicing requirements. Prior to joining Obsidian, Mr. Norwood was a business consultant with BearingPoint Inc. in Washington, DC.   He worked primarily with the United States Marshal’s Service, Office of Finance, where he was responsible for financially reporting all capitalized real property assets and led multiple research efforts to validate past financial statements and audit findings.

Mr. Norwood was born and raised in the Portland area.   He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in finance from Santa Clara University in 2002. From 2002 to 2006, Mr. Norwood served as a ranger-qualified captain in the United States Army.   He successfully commanded a twenty-eight soldier scout platoon through a yearlong deployment in Iraq and planned and led numerous combat missions.

Laura NugentLaura M. Nugent
Laura M. Nugent joined Obsidian as a Project Analyst in September 2008.  She works on various projects relating to biorefinery development, environmental remediation, distressed asset liquidation and real estate.

Ms. Nugent joined Obsidian after taking a year off to travel and volunteer in Africa, Ireland and Mexico and interning for Obsidian in the fall of 2007. She graduated from Stanford University with an M.A. in anthropological sciences in 2007, with a focus on natural resource management. In addition, she received a B.S. in biological sciences, also from Stanford University.
